Apprentice Accounts Assistant

Our exciting and innovative Apprenticeship Programmes are designed to attract and develop a diverse range of talented individuals who will contribute to the continued growth and success of our business.

At Bellway we have a number of “non-construction specialist” operations working to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

What do I achieve?

  • an exciting future built with us starting August or September 2023
    • a nationally recognised qualification. We are looking to offer either a Level 2 AAT or Level 4 AAT, dependent on candidate.
      • We anticipate this qualification to be delivered by learning provider: Genius People/Kaplan, however this can be reviewed with the successful candidate.
    • Course Duration: up to 18 months, plus end point assessment (EPA)
  • transferable skills such as leadership and communication

  • improving your knowledge and understanding of the housebuilding industry

Tell me all about the role!

  • Management of customer/supplier accounting records.
  • Processing and reconciling invoices.
  • Filing and housekeeping of supplier invoices.
  • Processing of payments received and monies authorised to pay out.
  • Administer all relevant completed paperwork records, scanning, shredding, archiving etc.
  • Assist with a range of office, administrative and ad-hoc finance related tasks as required.
  • Assist with month end management accounts and financial year end procedures.

What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a paid job which offers hands-on work experience alongside off-the-job training to anyone over the age of 16. As an apprentice you are an employee with a contract of employment, holiday leave and all the benefits of being a full time member of staff. By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career along with practical experience and a nationally recognised qualification.

What does off-the-job training look like at Bellway?

Our apprentice opportunities are registered with a college or training provider to deliver the apprenticeship framework or standard. There is a range of delivery methods such as, attending college one day each week, an assessor delivering sessions in the workplace, or distance learning.

Apprentices will also have the opportunity to attend regular skills workshops to develop transferable skills, business knowledge, and build a network of peer support to share best practices.

What is the application process for Bellway’s Apprenticeship Programme?

All applications will be initially reviewed by dedicated members of our team, taking each of our Key Competency areas into consideration.

Following a successful application, you will be invited to take part in a short Careers Conversation. This conversations helps us to assess your suitability for the role.

Our final stage consists of the following depending on the Level of Apprenticeship:

  • Level 2 – 3 Apprenticeships: A final stage interview held with the local hiring manager, this will be face to face in either the Divisional Office or a Site nearby.
