Overview:
ASSOCIATE PROJECT MANAGER (LINGUISTICS)

Position Summary
The main responsibility of the Associate Project Manager (APM) is to coordinate project resources including independent contributors towards client project delivery while simultaneously handling key stakeholder relationships. The APM applies their contributor and data management skills and attention to detail to manage projects to quality expectations, timelines, and budget. The APM applies their communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships and transcribers/annotators around the world.

Responsibilities:

The role includes but is not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage projects to quality, time and budget to ensure effective project execution and delivery
  • Onboard and train a virtual team of contributors to create, evaluate or annotate linguistic and non-linguistic data in multiple languages and/or modalities.
  • Prepare guidelines, training materials and tools, aligned to client specifications
  • Oversee the work of contributors, including task assignment, scheduling and monitoring
  • Taking ownership of successful creation, execution, monitoring and reporting on all types of project solutions
  • Set up quality management processes and monitor their implementation
  • Create and analyze statistical reports to proactively identify and improve project results and efficiency
  • Work collaboratively in a team to support a project’s technical and quality objectives
  • Ensure close and regular communication with all internal project stakeholders, including reporting virtual team progress and quality
  • Document and manage language resources and data collection methodologies arising from projects

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 year's industry experience
  • Experience in a language related field, such as linguistics, computational linguistics, translation and localization, or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and data management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, VBA, Word, and Outlook
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an environment characterized by constant change, and a fast, deadline-driven culture

  • Excellent at communication, including an ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing or verbally
  • Passionate about learning new skills and technologies
  • An analytical thinker with ability to proactively identify problems, gather information and set course of action
  • An interest in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or other related fields
