Looking for a challenging and rewarding role in Public Practice Bookkeeping? Look no further than Crowe Watson, the leading recruitment specialists, working on behalf of a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Derby. We’re seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our client’s team and help them provide exceptional service to their clients.

You’ll be responsible for managing the bookkeeping and accounting needs of a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to larger corporations. You’ll work closely with the team of experienced accountants to ensure that the clients’ finances are managed efficiently and accurately. You’ll also have the opportunity to build relationships with clients and help them grow their businesses.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work. You should be comfortable working with a range of accounting software, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll need to be able to work independently, but also be a team player who can collaborate effectively with others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the bookkeeping and accounting needs
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings
  • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure that accounts are up-to-date and accurate
  • Work with clients to ensure that their accounting systems are efficient and effective
  • Communicate effectively with clients and other members of the team

Requirements

  • AAT or equivalent qualification in bookkeeping or accounting
  • Strong experience in bookkeeping and accounting, ideally in a public practice environment
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software, particularly Xero and Sage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £22,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
