Job Description :

Solihull’s Education Business Support Team are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and motivated Business Support Officers to join our friendly team.

The Education Business Support Team consists of around 30 staff who provide Business Support for a range of services for the Inclusion and Access Division. All of our team, whatever their role, share one purpose, supporting the provision of the best possible education for all children and young people in Solihull.
This role will be supporting the Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Service. The EHCP Service is a dedicated team that work specifically around the statutory assessment and review process.

Your duties will include:

  • To provide a full administrative support to the service ensuring the provision of reception service
  • To act as a key contact for enquiries, building relationships with colleagues and other professionals to handle queries effectively and with sensitivity and discretion.

  • You will complete administrative tasks associated with the EHC assessment, Planning and Annual Review processes, as required in team guidance

To be successful in this role you will need either 4 GCSEs at Grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent numeracy and literacy skills, or an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.

You will also have significant experience of office administration and taking minutes at meetings. You will use your initiative to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines in a highly demanding environment and will have experience of dealing with challenging situations.

An excellent communicator, you will have the confidence and ability to deal with a variety of multi-disciplinary professionals on a range of matters and the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information. You will enjoy working as part of an effective team but also work well independently to a high standard.

In return, we offer the opportunity to work in a motivational and supportive environment where your contribution will be really valued and your personal development actively supported.

We also offer:

  • Flexible working and agile working arrangements
  • Generous annual leave entitlements with opportunity to buy up to 10-days additional leave per year
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme – a 24 hour independent, free and confidential advice and support service
  • Family and carer friendly policies
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Employee benefits including staff discounts, subsidised travel passes and Cycle 2 Work Scheme

Working on a hybrid basis; this role will involve a predominately office based period of induction, followed by a combination of home and office working, to meet business needs.

If you are someone with a passion for helping and supporting children in need we would like to hear from you.
