The East Genomic Laboratory Hub (East GLH) is one of seven hubs which make up the NHS Genomic Medicine Service. Our 3 partner laboratories at Cambridge, Leicester and Nottingham deliver Genomics to 31 NHS Trusts in our region, serving a patient population of over 9 million people.

The laboratory is keen to harness the power of data monitoring, visualisation and modelling to inform upon strategy and to drive operational decision making. We are pleased to be recruiting an enthusiastic Data Analyst to work in the informatics team based at CUH Addenbrooke’s hospital. A details-oriented, methodical individual, you will be responsible for collating and reporting key data used within the Cambridge Laboratory to drive operational decision making and efficiency improvements. You will ensure that critical reports used for finance, contract monitoring, outcomes and turn-around time (TAT) monitoring at the CUH laboratory are accurate and are produced in a timely fashion.

You will be comfortable exploring new mechanisms to interpret and present performance data and metrics. You will have experience working with teams with a wide variety of backgrounds and be comfortable communicating complex information to stakeholders.

You will have the opportunity to work with other data analysts from our region and trust, as well as collaborating with other laboratory staff members to continuously improve data analytics within the CUH lab.

The East Genomics Laboratory Hub (East GLH) recognises the importance of using data to drive operational decision making and measure the benefits of our service. This role, which is based at the central laboratory of East GLH, Cambridge Genomics Laboratory, will be instrumental in making accurate, relevant and timely information available to senior management in order to meet the Laboratory’s service objectives and business needs.

This role will achieve this by:

  • • Designing and developing laboratory datasets and reports, providing analysis and insights in to their contents, and assuring their quality.
  • Implementing policies and processes for Cambridge Laboratory data analysis, working under our laboratory change management process.
  • Collaborating with other data analysts in the region to share best practice and implement appropriate solutions to support operational management of the Cambridge Laboratory.
