Job Description :

There’s never been a more exciting time to work in Digital at the National Trust.

As a key member of our Digital Product team, you'll play an important role in delivering our exciting digital roadmap and new enhancements to the Trust’s successful and award-winning digital portfolio, whilst supporting our cross-departmental digital marketing and communications strategy.

The role will work in partnership with a wider range of groups: from Agile IT delivery teams to Digital Channel and Content teams, external partners to senior internal sponsors and stakeholders. This will help to deliver the ambitious vision for the organisation as a whole and the charity’s digital strategy.

What it's like to work here:We’re bigger than you think, we’re more complicated than we appear and we’re larger scale than you’d imagine. We’ve got passionate people in all our teams, and we’ve got so much more we want to achieve. We’re for ever, for everyone and we really mean that.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.

What you'll be doing:You'll focus on supporting our commercial product stream, primarily supporting our Holidays and online retail offers. You'll lead the customer-facing digital experience, working with key business stakeholders to identify opportunities for product enhancement, and with the central teams to set and deliver the roadmap for optimisation.

You'll use the knowledge you've gained in delivering successful large and complex digital marketing products from idea to reality, employing project management practices, such as Agile, as well as your understanding of product development lifecycles. You’ll line manage a Product Executive and you'll work together to set out annual and quarterly plans for delivery.

Your track record of getting the best from your delivery teams and working in a highly collaborative way with colleagues will enable you to work closely with content, design and UX teams, championing user-centred practices to both serve and delight your target customers.

Who we're looking forYou can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
  • Working knowledge of Digital Product/Project management lifecycles, processes and practices
  • Experience of working within Agile delivery methods
  • Experience in successfully managing major, strategic or complex product portfolios in a multi-disciplined environment focused on digital marketing, web, app and internet technologies

  • Significant experience in planning and estimating, including financial considerations
  • Experience in managing, mentoring or coaching junior colleagues
  • Experience managing development of front-end user experiences for large-scale CMS, e-Commerce or other data driven systems

The packageThe National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
