Turner & Townsend is one of the leading consultancy providers to the Infrastructure sector and we have a thriving UK Estimating team making the difference for a large number of clients both in the UK and Overseas. We are now looking for a talented individual to join the Estimating team as our Cost Intelligence and Benchmarking lead. This is a national role with a flexible home office location.

Our Estimating team delivers a wide range of outputs for our clients, to support their decision making, including:

• Estimate production (from Order of Magnitude estimates through to detailed estimates built up from first principles)
• Estimating assurance
• Major programmes estimating and cost intelligence strategy / set up
• Estimating data and benchmarking

The role is to complement and enhance these services by developing and implementing a new Cost Intelligence and Benchmarking strategy in line with our Estimating Vision to 2025 and beyond.

Within this role at Turner & Townsend you will be responsible for:

• Working with our Digital team to help transform the tools that underpin our estimating and cost intelligence services
• Growing our cost intelligence capability through the identification of new hires and the development of existing staff
• Playing a leading role in the development and promotion of estimating and cost intelligence & benchmarking good practice
• Playing a leading role in the achievement of departmental objectives
• Staying abreast of developments within your own technical area of expertise
• Supporting or leading bids for new work
• Providing direction to staff working for you and with you on specific tasks.
• Acting as a role model for less experienced staff
• Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
• Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients
• Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities
• Knowledge management

• Proven estimating leadership experience
• Cost intelligence and benchmarking production and leadership experience
• Qualified to a high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience
• Previous experience of working with estimating software packages
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A. Cost E.
• Experience of working on Major Programmes and Projects
• Experience of working in the Infrastructure sector
