Copilot and Custodian for the M&M’s® Retail London (LON) and Berlin (BRL) business unit, responsible for directing and overseeing all financial activities including –

• Management and ownership of LON and BRL financials including the P&L, Balance Sheet, Working Capital and Cash Flow Statements (NCFO).
• Financial Reporting and Forecasting including the Annual Operating Plan and the Year-End estimate (YEE).
• Period Accounting Close Management including period, quarter and year end journal entries, reconciliations, commentaries and corporate submissions in HFM, Helios, etc.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis targeting sustainable growth and improved productivity including labor modeling, waste, logistics, advertising, etc.
• Oversee Accounting Operations including AP, AR, general accounting, fixed asset recognition, intercompany transactions, payroll processing, etc.
• Stakeholder in key local strategic initiatives including warehousing, lease accounting and other business relationships.
• Architect of Value Creation for LON and MRG.

Governance and Control

• Creation of SOPs, practices, and systems in compliance with the Mars Finance Manual, country specific Accounting Standards and other legal and regulatory requirements.
• Create and manage a secure internal control environment, including appropriate segregation of duties, by providing leadership and expertise. Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, access, and controls can be managed within all systems.
• Plan and manage the year-end and other audit processes with PwC and internal auditors; ensure timely resolution of all findings and comments. Serve as a liaison with all specialist teams (e.g., Treasury, Tax, and Currency Centers) and ensure appropriate unit compliance with all requirements.
• Maintain and implement updates for Global ICE Controls on an annual basis.
• Oversee the R25 policy and lead corresponding audits as needed.
• Be a role model for ethics, integrity and trust in all areas including ensuring identification of and appropriate responses to fraud and theft.
• Manage accounting systems to enable compliance with requirements and produce accurate and reliable financial reporting.

Tax Reporting and Management

• Partner with Accounting on timely compilation, filing and payment of tax, and insurance including import/customs duties, corporate and personal income taxes, state and local taxes including VAT, and property taxes.

Supply Chain

• Partner with third party freight and logistics providers to drive accountability of inventory and reporting accuracy.
• Oversee inventory management in alignment with GAAP and Finance Manual regulations.

Context & Scope

• Hybrid position that will require working some time in physical stores (LON/BER)
• Collaborate with MRG Global Finance Team and Store Management in the development and delivery of the business strategy and financial shape (NSV, MAC, Earning, NCFO, etc) by leading the annual operating plan, year-end estimate and long-term plan processes.
• Partner with M&M’s® Store Directors to provide rigorous evaluation of the entire store P&L through operational and financial KPIs and drivers to deliver the business unit’s operating plan.
• Work collaboratively with Retail Management Teams (P&O, Marketing, Operations, Loss Prevention, etc.) to provide leadership and strategic direction to the store team through sound analysis, judgement and command skills.
• Develop and manage relationships with MARS UK/Germany including Corporate Finance and in-country tax and treasury to ensure compliance with country specific accounting and tax regulations.

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• Financial Qualifications - CIMA or ACCA
• Fluent in English and Basic German preferred

Knowledge / Experience

• Greater than 3-5 Years Relevant Experience
• Ability to lead and direct indirect reports
• Retail Experience Strongly Preferred
