Events SIA Security Officer

Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham

£13.00 per hour

We are looking to recruit additional Event SIA Security Officers, to join our current team working at Edgbaston Stadium and other events in Birmingham and The Midlands.. You will be part of a team ensuring that some of the UK and the world's biggest events run in a safe, secure way, ensuring that everyone has a first class experience.

Birmingham is a key location for G4S Events - with year-round contracts at the city's high profile cricket ground and the Midlands top Rugby Union team. Edgbaston Stadium is a regular host of major domestic and international cricket and is known across the globe for world-class cricket. It is home to Warwickshire County Cricket Club and its T20 team Birmingham Bears. Edgbaston has also been the venue for Test matches, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals. With permanent seating for approximately 25,000 spectators it was the home of cricket for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and this year they are playing host to The Ashes tournament.

You'll be part of a delivery team responsible for conducting searches, monitoring crowds and responding to security incidents. You'll be working at some of the world's largest events, often with thousands of people, so you'll need your experience as an SIA Door Supervisor licensed security professional to identify situations before they happen and respond accordingly to those that do. Equally important is your ability to deliver a great customer experience to help create the a unique atmosphere

This is a varied role that will provide great memories: you could be based in the events space, outside with the fans or helping to protect world famous athletes and staff. Friendly, professional and approachable, you'll use common sense to help people and ensure the events run smoothly.

Duties may include:

• Carrying out pre and post event safety checks, ensuring compliance with safe working procedures
• Searching visitors on entry to venues
• Ensuring that no prohibited or restricted items are taken into the secured zones within the venues
• Monitoring visitors, crowd movements and behaviour to identify potential issues or incidents and to take appropriate action as necessary
• Dealing with visitor/crowd disruptions
• Securing licenced and hospitality areas
