Job summary

The post holder will provide high-level executive support to one of Ofsted’s eight Regional Directors. Working closely with the Regional Director, who is also supported by a Personal Assistant, the Executive Assistant will manage the interface between the Regional Director, internal colleagues and external stakeholders. The post holder will establish effective and efficient systems to support the Regional Director across their range of responsibilities, ensuring the Regional Director has the information and advice they need, whilst providing excellent customer service.

Job description

The key responsibilities of the role are outlined below. However, this is an overview of the role and is not exhaustive. Ofsted reserves the right to assign other duties appropriate to the B1 grade as required.

Act as the main liaison point between the Regional Director and key external and internal stakeholders, including the commission and provision of high quality briefings in advance of meetings and engagements, to support the Regional Director in developing and maintaining effective relationships.

Maintain an overview of all key issues and work requiring the Regional Director’s attention, prioritising and flagging work that comes into the office and liaising with colleagues to resolve issues as they arise.

Develop and maintain high-level systems to organise and deal with the flow of business to and from the Regional Director’s office including all aspects of regional correspondence, complaints and quality assurance work.

Undertake specific projects and research and analysis on behalf of the Regional Director and SHMI, including presenting findings in papers, reports and PowerPoint presentations.

Ensure effective organisation and delivery of regional events such as conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings.

Selection process details

Shortlisting:
The selection panel will assess your application based on your evidence you have provided against the essential criteria as set out in the job description and person specification.

Interview:
