Skilled Factory Operative – Davin Foods

Location: Barking, London

Salary: £10.50-£12.50 per hour (Dependant on Experience)

To Join us all we we ask is are you experienced in using the knife?

We are also looking for someone who:

• Can Prepare a range of vegetables using peelers and knives, including root veg and salads
• Be able to do a variety of cuts including slice, dice, turn, julienne
• Help bag and pack your finished vegetables
• Work quickly and accurately
• Ensure quality of every vegetable is perfect to keep our customers happy
• Keep your work area clean and tidy
• Follow H&S instructions to keep yourself and your team safe and happy at work

You may have transferable skills having worked within a fish mongers or butchers or you may be a Junior Chef looking for a new challenge.

This role requires a level of dexterity and good knife skills in preparing fresh fruit & Vegetables to customer specifications. if you are looking to work within the food industry, we will provide you with the necessary training to make you a cut above the rest.

Thirdly, What you will be doing:

• Safely prepare fresh cut fruit and Vegetables for packaging, trays, and juices.
• Safely use sharp tools/knives for cutting and trimming product to ensure high quality presentation and appearance.
• Keep good housekeeping of your work area by applying the Company ‘Clean as you always go’ policy.
• Always adhere to Company Policies and Procedures.
• Be happy to work the following Shift Pattern: 5 days over 6 (Sunday - Friday)

Hours of Work: Choice between 40 hours or 48 hours per week:

40 = Sunday to Thursday 9am to finish (usually between 6pm and 9pm)

48 = Sunday to Friday 9am to finish (usually between 6pm and 9pm)

Our volume changes every day, and finish times may be later than 9pm.
