Field Service Engineer

Location: Green Park, Reading, travelling will be required to other customer sites

We are currently recruiting for a field service engineer with electro-mechanical experience ideally in a printing/manufacturing or field environment to provide support for a high profile government contract primarily on customer sites. Will be home based but required to cover primarily but not exclusively South East, East Midlands area of the UK. Will be required to cover weekend on call on a rota basis (Normally once a month)

Our Opportunity

You will be working within the DIS function (Digital Identity and Security) who provide a growing range of software and services for digital banking and payment services.

This includes strong identity verification for enrolling new customers, supplying secure identity documents, ID verification services, digit government as well as border control and public security ad criminal forensics.

As a Regional Solutions Engineer, you will responsible maintaining and restoring customer services by performing planned, preventative maintenance (PPM). You will be resolving incidents performing diagnostic and resolution of issues relating to complex secure document issuance hardware and Software situated on customer and Thales sites predominantly in the South East and East Midlands region.

You will undertake independent investigations, produce reports and recommendations as well as identify and exploit new systems and technology to improve working practices. You will also maintain high standards of safety and quality in all activates of the organisation and undertake maintenance and installations as direct and within agreed Service Levels at specific regional sites with occasionally nationally within Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

About You

You will need to be self-driven and have good communications skills as well as the following:

• You will have a background in Electro/Mechanical engineering
• Must be able to drive.
• Excellent at Troubleshooting and Problem Solving practices
• An understanding of simple Network infrastructure, trouble shooting and remote hands support to Network Specialists.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure
• Possess a strong customer support focus.
• Team player, as will be working in a small technically focused team.
• Flexible work ethic

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
