Finance Placement Role

As a placement student in our Accounting and Finance team, you will play a key role in processes and deliverables. You will be fully integrated into the finance teams shared services function covering Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. This placement will strengthen your working financial knowledge and give a unique perspective of the workings of a finance function in a fast growing multinational business.

Your responsibilities

The core part of the role will be assisting with either AP or AR finance teams in processing activities such as the following:

Accounts Payable

• Maintaining an Invoice tracker and setting up supplier and expert payments
• Managing day-to-day supplier and expert queries on payments
• Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Collecting and processing staff expenses
• Processing and reconciling corporate credit cards
• Assisting with Bank Reconciliation reviews and posting on our accounting software
• Where relevant, carrying out ad hoc projects as required

Accounts Receivable

• Supporting our billing process and the creation of customer invoices
• Allocating and reconciling all funds received
• Managing day-to-day client queries on billing and service usage
• Continuously following up with clients to recover outstanding amounts
• Reviewing in detail the monthly Aged Debtors Report to ensure its accuracy
• Dealing with client related Value Added Tax (VAT) and Withholding Tax (WHT) issues
• Where relevant, carrying out ad hoc projects as required

These tasks are fundamental to the smooth running of the business and you will find that such activities are conducted in many other businesses which will give you a good understanding of the basics and the platform for a strong start to your career in finance.

Eligibility

• Must be an undergraduate student .
• Must have the right to work in the UK already in place.

Requirements

• A strong interest in a future career in Finance or Accounting
• Attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels in a professional and mature manner
• Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and undertake various administrative duties
• Proficiency in MS Office or Gsuite skills

Compensation and benefits

• Total compensation £23,000.

• 25 vacation days, 9 company holidays & business closure during winter holiday week
• Optional WFH on Thursday and Friday.
