Job Title: Financial Analyst (Financial Planning & Analysis) (FP&A)
Location: Hybrid - Home based and Birmingham or Stoke-on-Trent office split

We are seeking for a Financial Analyst to join our UK finance team to support a growing business and to maintain auditable financial accounting processes and procedures.
What will you do:
Play a pivotal role in the month end accounting: Prepare journal entries in Oracle and Hyperion
Evaluate the cost-efficiency of each department considering what the business’ financial resources consume
Support the Finance Manager in preparing financial presentations containing commentary and insight on how the budget and/or rolling forecast compares against actual performance
Prepare variance analysis and identity drivers for over/under performance with oversight from the finance manager to help Senior management in decision-making
Prepare and consolidate the budget and forecast in collaboration with the operations
Analyze regularly the cash flow and anticipate gap with the business target
Calculate the employee’s hourly rate, keep track of working hours and billable hours, and monitor the business overhead recovery
Collaborate with managers in understanding the sales & tendering actual expenditures and the trends that may impact future performance
Identify workflow inefficiency and areas of action/improvement within the team to create more efficient processes and reporting – act as a Super-user
Assist the Finance Manager in preparing the 5 year-plan and help to deliver Senior management’s long term strategic plan
Support the Finance Accounting & Controls Lead in audit and reporting requirements
Ensure the upkeep of financial accounting procedures, internal controls and the authorization process for all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Compile ad hoc analysis and other summaries to assist Senior management in the efficient day to day running of the business
Ad-hoc treasury & banking responsibilities
Experience Required:
Must have at least 2 years of financial planning experience
Experience working with Oracle and/or Hyperion
Advanced user of MS Office & Advanced Excel
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related major or equivalent professional experience is required.
Qualified ACMA or equivalent, or studying towards professional qualifications
