As our Gift Processing Officer, you’ll oversee donations processing at the National Trust, mapping out processes and finding ways to improve efficiency and the supporter journey.

The role is offered on a 9-month fixed term contract or internal secondment basis.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.

What you'll be doing:You’ll join the Fundraising Operations team and will have day to day management and oversight of donations processing, providing training, support and guidance to colleagues across Fundraising, central, regional and at property teams. You’ll work with external fundraising platform providers to ensure donations and other fundraised income is received in a timely and efficient manner.

You’ll help produce regular fundraising income reports and will work closely with other members of the Fundraising Operations team, consulting with stakeholders across the Trust to contribute to improved reporting for all areas of Fundraising.

You’ll work closely with the Fundraising Performance Manager as well as multiple fundraising teams, ensuring process compliance. You will map out and document new and existing donation and income processes, identifying solutions for problem areas and supporting the implementation of new initiatives.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Knowledge of financial processes, in particular donation and income processing and reporting
  • Understanding of data protection regulations, the fundraising code of practice and other relevant regulatory requirements such as gift aid regulations and the Charity Commission
  • Information management skills, creativity, with the ability to take a brief and translate it into actionable solutions, analysing and mapping business processes, developing and then implementing
  • Communications skills, with the ability to produce clearly structured written documentation to make complex subject matters simple for the benefit of others
  • Interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels to ensure process understanding and compliance
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects at once
  • Demonstrable experience of CRM systems
