Graduate Software Engineer 2023 Intake

Next DLP

London, England

Job ID : 6646715132534a42513450616e6c46504a513d3d

Job Description :

At Next DLP, we started with the people. A small core group of engineers got together to find an industry where we could merge innovation, passion, and simplicity to help people reach their greatest potential. Their attention was drawn towards the world of security—indispensable to modern work, yet often overlooked and taken for granted. Organizations needed the tools to understand if something was happening in real-time to keep their people safe and their data protected.

We started Next DLP in 2016. Six years later, we’re still creating a better, smarter way to deliver security. We protect people and data anywhere, and innovative companies worldwide use Next DLP for human-centric data loss protection.

About this position

We are looking for bright and enthusiastic graduates to join our R&D team in White City (West London) as we embark on our next chapter as a data loss cyber security provider. As a software engineer, you will be working on everything from research and design, to testing and delivering features, across our entire product range.

About you

At Next DLP, we default to programming using Go, but also use a wide variety of different languages and frameworks. It is not expected that you would be familiar with Go (or any of the other languages we use) but you should be enthusiastic and willing to learn new things.

Although these are not compulsory skills, prior experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

  • Knowledge of a general-purpose programming language, including any of: Golang, Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS.
  • Designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of network security (e.g. SSL/TLS) and other crypto concepts.
  • Appreciation of test-driven development, continuous integration/deployment, Kanban.
  • Experience using Version Control Software such as Git as part of working in a team
  • Experience developing for Machine Learning

You will also have achieved excellent academic results at a recognised university or are able to demonstrate outstanding technical skills and are proficient in English. We are looking for a team player who thinks holistically, enjoys solving complex problems and thrives working autonomously, while not afraid to ask for input and learn from your teammates if you’re stuck.

You should take pride in your work and want a career where your creative abilities will make a difference to the world of technology whilst being part of an impressive R&D environment. If you have experience developing software either for a University project or as a hobby and can show us on GitHub or elsewhere please let us know when you apply so we can discuss it at the interview.

Does this sound like you? We'd love you to apply, even if you don't meet 100% of the requirements and qualifications.

Next DLP graduate program

Every new graduate hire is assigned a mentor, who will be a senior member of the team. Your mentor will be responsible for overseeing your development through the first few years of your career and ensuring that you are given the necessary support and guidance. Your mentor will also be responsible for ensuring that you will gain experience in a number of different areas.

From day one, graduate software engineers will be given the opportunity to become responsible for designing and developing a key part of the product. You will quickly gain experience across the full software development lifecycle from design through coding, testing, and support across a wide range of technologies and languages.
