Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced designer to take on a key role in building a new children’s brand. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for developing creative designs, working to printer templates, creating print-ready files and assembling visual presentation material as required. This will include liaising with printers both UK and abroad, assisting with new product development while also ensuring specifications and scheduling are followed.

It is essential that you will have worked in the publishing industry and are familiar with the current industry standards. The role is full time, Monday to Friday and office-based only.

Overview of Main Duties

- Develop the brand style

- Create appropriate designs in line with brand style

- Work on design and layouts according to templates

- Liaise with production and printers where needed on new product development

- Create print-ready files

- Assemble visual presentation material as required

- Effectively communicate with production to ensure compliance requirements are fulfilled

Experience and Skills Required

- Background in children’s products

- Experience in new product development

- Confident using a Mac, working with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

- Strong communication skills to deal with customers and suppliers when needed

- High attention to detail

- Organisational skills to manage workload

- Highly motivated and positive approach

- Ability to stick to deadlines and manage timelines as needed to achieve plans.

Salary dependent on experience
