About the role

Reporting to the Director of Direct Services, this role will be accountable for the development and implementation of our cancer content strategy spanning clinical and non-clinical specialisms. You will lead, engage and collaborate with colleagues from across the organisation together with partners from the public, private and third sectors to ensure delivery of a coordinated and impactful strategy.

Our ambition is to reach more people from across all communities and we are keen to involve those with a lived experience of cancer in all that we do so you’ll lead, engage and influence stakeholders as needed, in the development of a work programme which reflects the prioritised needs of those we’re here to support.

Key deliverable of the role will include:

  • Development and implementation of a cancer content strategy
  • Delivery of work programme which delivers fit for purpose content across multiple formats, channels and settings to agreed time, cost and quality parameters
  • Establishment of high performing partnerships which support delivery of improved impact to people living with cancer, those close to them and those engaged in the care and support of others
  • Increased relevance, reach and impact of our content across all communities

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing content strategies spanning a range of specialisms
  • Demonstrable experience of leading the commission and production of high-quality content in different formats delivered across multiple channels and settings to diverse audiences
  • Considerable experience of leading, developing and motivating high performing teams spanning multiple disciplines with clear evidence of impact achieved
  • Experience of leading and developing partnerships across sectors to deliver demonstrable improvements in the reach and impact of content
  • Skilled in delivering shared outcomes through collaboration with colleagues and teams within and beyond Macmillan boundaries
  • Experience in leading development of innovative content programmes which deliver to defined performance, quality and impact key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Owned, defined and developed content metrics, KPI’s and benchmarks demonstrating tangible performance and quality shifts
  • Extensive experience of working with stakeholders across the health, social care and money and work landscape to ensure delivery of seamless customer experiences
  • Strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to leverage insight, frame problems and solutions in a logical fashion
