About British Cycling
British Cycling is the national governing body for the sport of cycling in Britain. Our purpose is to lead our sport and inspire our communities, building on the elite success of the Great Britain Cycling Team, growing eight cycling disciplines – from track and cyclo-cross racing to BMX freestyle park – and enabling more people to discover the joys of our brilliant sport.

Our 145,000 members, over 2,000 affiliated clubs, teams and groups, and 12,500 volunteers are at the heart of what we do. In partnership with Welsh Cycling and Scottish Cycling, we govern and develop the sport from the grassroots to international competition.
What will you be doing?
As the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for creating the organisation’s marketing strategy, delivering campaigns, and building engagement to increase awareness of the sport and drive sales whilst developing brand equity.

You will develop and manage a diverse marketing team made up of talented individuals leading on brand, content, social, creative and research.
Other responsibilities include:

  • Growing and diversifying our audiences, driving the uptake of products and services (e.g. membership) and participation in the sport
  • Overseeing digital communications and the delivery of a social media strategy to improve engagement, lead generation and brand recognition
  • Maximising consumer reach through media (traditional, digital, PR) and events, enabling the organisation to meet its strategic objectives
  • Owning creative partnerships and managing the development of visual content
  • Cultivating a consumer-centric mindset, driven by insight and data, across the team and wider organisation
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on all marketing activities, results, and Return on Investment

About you

  • Budget management experience and proactivity in identifying and acting on commercial opportunities
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment, with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
