Job Introduction

This role sits within Global Marketing for BBC Studios, bringing the best British stories to a global audience. As Head of Marketing Planning & Delivery you will oversee the planning of global marketing strategies across BBC Studios genre marketing. Working in a fast paced dynamic team on great brands such as Doctor Who, Top Gear, and Bluey plus a huge slate of programming across Scripted, Factual, Global Formats and Kids and Family genres.

Support the development of the overall marketing plan and framework across brand and licensing marketing team and work with broader production and distribution teams to deliver on core KPIs and ROI.

A key output is to develop the overarching annual and quarterly marketing plan across all genres to give a holistic view of the total marketing activity and to work closely with the central planning function as marketing’s key contact.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work with Marketing SVP and VPs to develop of the overarching annual marketing strategy, working with senior leaders within the business to ensure that the plan is commercially robust, aligned to business genre priorities and budget is allocated appropriately based on ROI measures.
  • Develop the coordination of the global marketing strategy working across all marketing channels and key regional stakeholders to pull together one view of the overall plan, aligning to business priorities and vision.
  • Lead on the annual and quarterly planning process, ensuring that robust insight led decision making is taking place, driving alignment of business unit agendas and leading the process through to delivery across the year. Key kick offs and GTM timings.
  • Align Global marketing plans with regional plans and set regular business and meeting cadence and ensure communications are delivered effectively.
  • Work with the Genre Marketing VPs to organise planning meetings and agendas with Production MDs, Global Distribution and the Regions. Captures outputs and identifies priorities, working closely with the Marketing SVP, VPs and Directors.
  • Work with the Insights team and genre VPS to ensure all insights and KPIs align to business objectives
  • Understand key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools and work with the Insights team to bring that analysis to marketing group.
  • Design and review overall marketing plan, and guide the process of ROI analysis
  • Own the production of strategic marketing documents and presentations to management and stakeholders. Tracks progress against targets using project management software e.g. Monday.com
  • Work with the Media Director and Insights team to develop marketing scorecard. Ensure that the media budget is aligned to marketing activity and drives to key ROI measurement.
  • Lead the budget planning process for the marketing department, ensuring that all spend is appropriately reviewed and delivered against the required metrics. Tracks regularly, in partnership with Finance Business Partner to ensure we are delivering to plan.
  • Define and leads the marketing planning process working across marketing as well as the key contacts across distribution and production teams and the wider Brands & Licensing teams.
  • Ensure that the team drive the completion of the annual marketing calendar by relevant stakeholders and all activity is tracked and delivered as required.
  • Set strategy for marketing prioritisation, productivity enhancements, and process improvements and works with the team to deliver and execute these.
  • Represent marketing at key central planning meetings and supports the department in prioritisation of activity and key commercial decision making.
  • Manage the monthly strategic reporting, scorecards and reports for senior management meetings.
  • Lead on setting and monitoring of KPIs for department.
  • Delivery and Operational leadership. Plays a key role in the efficient running of the department by ensuring projects are briefed and delivered to agreed deadlines, working collaboratively with operational and planning leads across the division
  • Tracks usage of marketing assets and performance.
  • Chair project reviews and forward planning meetings for Marketing, working collaboratively with Heads of Delivery and Ops from other Brands & Licensing departments e.g. Digital Consumer Engagement, Creative, Transformation
