Pod Talent are exclusively working with a leading Global FMCG Business in Gloucester on an exciting new role, we are currently recruiting for a Head of Production & Operations to join their site. This is a newly created role, you will report into the Supply Chain Director and you will lead a team of 120-140 employees across Production. This is a site that consists of over 350 employees, it has regular investment but the main challenges they face at the moment are around operational performance, especially their OEE. They are looking for a strong people leader who can coach and develop their team whilst setting clear priorities and implementing a continuous improvement culture.

As this role is new to the business it's a great opportunity to put your own stamp on things and implement a new operational strategy. Key Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for a team of 90-100 production staff including area managers & supervisors, managing production activities and ensuring the team performs to the highest level.
• Develop a KPI Driven culture on the shop floor, targeting continuous improvement activities across key areas e.g. OEE.
• Ensures that internal/ external audit standards are integrated, and actions are up to date with required improvements.
• Initiates, coordinates and manages CAPEX and Continuous Improvement projects
• Work closely with other teams in the business e.g. Engineering to ensure that TPM culture is implemented cross functionally.
• Drive people development by setting out clear accountabilities and deliverables to enhance site performance.

Key Requirements:

• Strong operations management background from FMCG, will have several years of people management experience, ideally leading large teams.
• Will have proven experience in developing & leading high performing teams.
• Strong Continuous Improvement experience, exposure to TPM is advantageous.
• Strong strategic planning experience and highly analytical.
• Excellent communication skills, can manage stakeholders at all levels.
