Description

The HR Advisor supports the business with providing an efficient HR service, across all aspects of HR, on day to day basis, escalating exceptional situations to the Head of HR where appropriate.
Please note this role is a hybrid role with the expectation that there will be 2 to 3 days per week in the office

Key Responsibilities

RELATIONSHIPS
  • Acts as an advisor to the business (managers and employees) on a day to day basis, providing advice and guidance on the company’s policies and procedures;

  • Delivers pragmatic solutions to the business, escalating complex situations to the Head of HR / HR Manager;

  • Works collaboratively with the wider HR team and redirects queries to appropriate specialist when needed;

  • Monitors absence and provides a report on sickness levels to the business monthly and recommends actions and follows up with line managers and employees;

  • Conducts induction, onboarding and exit interviews.

  • Understands the need for, and strictly adheres to, the need for confidentiality and the protection of data at all times




  • keeping up to date with trends and changes to the Law for the processes involved throughout employee life cycle e.g. Maternity, Paternity, Redundancy, Sickness, Visa sponsorship, apprenticeships, Disciplinary and Grievance

  • Awareness of the importance of EDI and ensuring this is considered carefully by management


  • ADMINISTRATION
  • A keen eye for detail is essential

  • Updates and maintains all HR documentation including policies, contracts, letters and employee information in line with legislative changes;

  • All starter and leaver administration including contracts and letters;

  • Updates HR system with starters, leavers, changes, training etc;

  • Updates and maintains HR SharePoint site and policies;

  • Tracks and raises POs/invoices for HR costs and follows up with Finance where necessary.

  • Assists in HR processes, such as interviews, performance improvement meetings, investigations and disciplinary procedures


  • PROJECTS
  • Supports on regular and ad hoc projects including engagement initiatives, annual pay review and organisation restructures.

  • Qualifications

  • CIPD (level 3 or 5), or working towards either these, is desirable

  • Mental Health First Aid accreditation is desirable, but not essential
