Our client, JB Corrie & Co Ltd, is a well-established manufacturer and supplier of Quality Assured fencing and steel fabrications for the fencing trade, security, sports, commercial and domestic markets. They are a family-owned, British company offering advice on specification, manufacturing and on the most complex installation requirements.

Due to their continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join their team in Petersfield, Hampshire. You will be supporting the full employee life cycle of the staff and providing guidance and advice to Heads of Department and Managers regarding people management responsibilities.

HR Advisor, responsibilities:

  • HR Policies and Procedures – providing guidance and advice; monitoring existing and creating new HR policies and procedures and making changes where necessary; maintaining template library and employee handbooks
  • Employee Relations – managing employee relation casework i.e., disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance (including drafting necessary letters and documents)
  • Training, Development and Wellbeing – overseeing annual training needs and plans, deliver training sessions and coordinating related activities and well-being initiatives
  • HR Information – developing and maintaining HRIS (Sage HR) recognising and managing issues related to absenteeism/long term sickness, completing year end holiday procedures, updating organisational charts, add new starters/amend for leavers
  • Recruitment – supporting recruitment processes, request employment references, checking RTW, processing new starters, onboarding, induction, dealing with probations and resignation letters
  • Performance Management, Pay and Benefits – annual appraisals, supporting FD with pay reviews, updating employee records, working closely with Payroll department
  • Project Support – managing administrative systems and procedures to provide admin support for HR projects

HR Advisor, perfect applicant:

  • Ideally Level 5 CIPD Qualified
  • Proven HR experience in a similar generalist role
  • Competent and up to date with all aspects of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience of supporting managers with complex employee relations matters
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – capable of working autonomously or within a team
  • Adaptable and resilient self-starter
  • Ability to deal with conflicting demands and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and initiative
  • Competent problem solver with incredible attention to detail
  • Professional work ethic
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with all levels within the business

This is a full time, permanent role. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00 to 5.30 and Friday 9.00 to 5.00 – 37h in total.
