Your Opportunity
Are you looking to start your career in HR? Do you want the opportunity to experience multiple areas of our HR department that supports our UK business of over 5,000 employees? If so, we would love to hear from you!
As an apprentice within the people team, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a whole range of HR activities. Our rotations will give you a great insight into how we look after our employees and attract talented people to join us. You’ll have four rotations which will be with our HR business advisors, Payroll, Talent Acquisition and Data Insights teams. It’s the perfect way to understand more about our business and how you’d like your career to develop in the future.
The length of your apprenticeship will vary dependant on course provider and scheme. Rest assured; we will support your study time alongside your permanent role.
What can I look forward to?
As part of the 4 rotations, you will gain an insight into the individual teams and what they deliver for our customer, the Zurich UK business.
In the Talent Acquisition team, you’ll find out how we attract and onboard people into our business, from early in careers to senior hires. As well as external recruitment, you’ll also spend time with our onboarding team as they produce contractual changes for our current employees as part of internal recruitment.
During your time with our HR business partners, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how they interact with our UK business and support them by providing their employment law expertise.
Our Payroll team do a very important job as they are responsible for ensuring our employees are paid correctly and on time! This isn’t all they do so you will have the opportunity to see what activity they are involved in, including system and employee record changes such as sickness, shares, company bonus payments and much more.
Data plays an important part on our decision making and provides our HR team and wider business with valuable data and insights on a number of different topics from reward to employee retention. You’ll spend time with our Data and Insights team to understand how they partner with key business areas and the work they are doing to help bring data to life!

What you’ll need
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 including Maths and English
- A professional attitude with a positive ‘can do’ approach to your work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships
