About the opportunity

Our established HR function is growing, and we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Consultant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. This role can be based from our Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow or Bristol offices, however travel across the UK will be required.

As a HR Consultant you will support Jacobs employees, whilst advising and coaching managers on a range of HR Generalist matters, including:

  • Support all people managers and employees
  • Consult with managers on people related matters and operational HR support
  • Support Employee Relations case work
  • Support Requests for HR support and advice escalated through Global People Services
  • Lead and Support Global and Country HR Projects within their geography

You will also work closely with HR Business Partners to execute programs and initiatives. Your key relationships will include:

  • Operations & Functional Managers
  • Global Business Services (GBS)
  • HR Country Delivery Director
  • HR Business Partners
  • Employee Relations
  • Centre of Excellences

Key Tasks:

  • Provide Management coaching & guidance using expertise on areas to include:
  • Employee relations and performance management
  • Retaining and engaging employees
  • Employee development and career life cycle
  • Change management- Restructures, Redundancy, TUPE, Office Collaboration and Closure
  • Absence Management and Employee Wellbeing
  • Work with Corporate HR and coach and support People Managers on annual HR Processes – Salary Review, Employee Performance Review (E3)
  • Provide guidance to Managers with interpreting compliance, regulations, policies, procedures and employment laws / contractual obligations, mitigating risk
  • Draft new company policies and procedures and review current when required to ensure compliance with employment legislation
  • Lead and\ or Support Managers and employees on reduction of workforce programmes including costings and mitigating risk
  • Lead on Data Statutory Requests
  • Manage and work with ER on Integrity Hot line and Employment Tribunal Cases
  • Coach, mentor and contribute to the development of employees and managers
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Trade Union Representatives
  • Share knowledge and expertise amongst the HR Consultant Team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CIPD or Equivalent
  • Generalist HR with strong proven experience In ER and Change Management. Working in a geographically dispersed HR Team covering locations across the UK.
