More about your role
We are excited to recruit two HR Graduates as part of our 2023 graduate programme, known internally as our Emerging Talent programme.
As our HR Graduate you'll work closely with our Shared Services teams to develop your HR generalist skills with HR Admin, Payroll and Recruitment, developing to further explore other “centres of excellence” such as; Recruitment Reward, Talent & Development & Employee Relations.
This role is a hybrid role, meaning you will spend a minimum of 2 – 3 days a week in our Preston Office with other members of the People Services team. Learning from those around you, understanding processes, building rapport and supporting each other in an environment where no two days are likely to be the same. The multi-team office space will highlight the variety of roles and opportunities a career in HR can aswell as giving you chance to build relationships through in work social events – our HR team are know for their lunchtime buffets and Christmas charity missions.
This is an exciting time to join our People Team as we transform into a truly centralised function, this is a role will great opportunities for development as we undertake a number of additional projects you can be involved gaining experience within the team.
The start date for this role is September 2023 which will include a week long induction in Leeds including introductions to the Executive Team, a tour of Places for People housing stock & social opportunities for you to meet the rest of the 2023 Emerging Talent cohort.
The two-year programme will support you to develop the core skills, behaviours and technical ability to develop into a successful HR professional, with transferable skills across multiple HR disciplines. The role will benefit from close mentorship from our Chief People Officer

More about you
You'll be educated to a graduate-level with a degree within a related specialism in either HR or General Humanities. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and show a willingness to learn an consider completion of either a level 5 or level 7 CIPD professional qualification, relevant to HR, which Places for People will support you with.
As a member of the People Team, you will be able to maintain a level of confidentiality and be comfortable dealing with sensitive information. You'll have a customer-centric approach to your ways of working, keeping our customer at the heart of what we do. As we embark on our transformational journey you'll be a positive, change champion.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to work with a high volume of work is key to thriving within this role.
