OVERVIEW
The Supply Chain Commodity Specialist Internship will be directed to work on projects that can be completed within the 12 week internship time frame.
In addition to Commodity support, successful applicants will join an experienced team of Supply Chain specialists across Planning, Sourcing, Procurement, Inventory and Logistics & Trade Compliance disciplines, in a dynamic and fast moving operations environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As a Commodity Specialist Intern, the primary objective is to support the needs of our Customers whilst ensuring Plexus’ Financial Goals and Objectives are achieved.
  • Directed by the mechanical commodity manager, the role will support Plexus’ response to customer quotation requests. Supporting activities will include obtaining component pricing and, by negotiation with the applicable supply base, ensuring that we are able to obtain the most accurate, industry competitive pricing possible, within agreed timeframes.
  • The successful applicant will work with internal customers and stakeholders to understand our end customer requirements, as well as with other areas of the business, to ensure that all relevant inputs and contributing factors are captured and considered.
  • Attend local supplier meetings to discuss quality, price and delivery performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Penultimate, or final, year student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business or Supply Chain Management for entire duration of internship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Communication/Interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Some offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing a drug screen and upon completion of a confidentiality agreement.
  • Ability to understand and interpret mechanical drawings & tolerances an advantage
