Ever wondered what a publishing company does with all it's data?
Penguin Random House is the world's leading trade publisher, championing brilliant voices from across the globe, bringing their stories and ideas to audiences everywhere. We have a great opportunity for two Junior Data Governance Analyst’s to join our Data Centre of Excellence, based in London.
At Penguin Random House we are implementing a cultural and technology change to drive the competitive advantages of data for the largest publisher in the world. We are constantly striving to lead and improve our cutting-edge Data Platform and support our business in this data driven journey. The Data Governance Team works closely with all parts of the business to inventory our data, define data and provide high quality data.
As our Junior Data Governance Analyst, you will:
Support Data Stewards across the business functions, manage the business glossary, document data quality rules and advocate good data practice.
Drive user engagement to our Data Products and Tools.
Run internal campaigns to raise awareness of the benefits of Data and Data Governance.
Learn new software, data skills and agile methodology at PRH UK.
As you gain experience and confidence, there will be the opportunity for further learning and career progression within our Data team.
To succeed in this role, you will:
Have a willingness to learn and develop your data skills.
Be a thoughtful and effective communicator with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical users.
Become familiar using Data Visualisation tools to create reports.
Be comfortable with problem solving by identifying, raising and mitigating data issues and risks.
Have the ability to create buzz and excitement for Data related topics!
Our approach to hybrid working:
We’re currently experimenting with hybrid working and involving colleagues across the business to shape our future ways of working. The needs of our teams and individuals are different, so we’re not taking a one-size-fits-all approach. While our offices are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing.
For this role, there are meetings and activities that you will need to attend in-person, mainly at our offices in London. The exact balance of office to remote working will depend on the nature of your role and team needs, and we are open to discussing this through the recruitment process.
If you’re passionate about data and want to learn more about the role, please apply with your CV by Thursday 9th February.
What you can expect from us:
Salary: £34,000 - £44,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
Our creativity is inspired by different perspectives, so we want our culture to be one of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and where differences are celebrated.
As a Disability Confident Committed organisation, we’re part of the offer an interview scheme. This is where disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for the role can opt in to get to the next recruitment stage. There may be some situations where volume of applicants means we can’t take all eligible candidates to interview.
We want to make sure disabled applicants can be their best at each step of the recruitment journey. If you need adjustments during the application process, we encourage you to get in touch with us at http://PRHCareersUK@penguinrandomhouse.co.uk.
Remember, you only need to share what you are comfortable to for us to support your adjustment request. Find out more about our approach here: www.penguinrandomhousecareers.co.uk/applying-for-roles-with-a-disability
