Job Description :

Tribal are currently recruiting a Junior Developer to work as part of the Development team of Semestry (https://semestry.com/), part of Tribal’s product portfolio. Semestry design and build cloud scheduling and resource management solutions for the education sector.

Tribal is a leading EdTech business providing market leading software solutions to the global education market. We strive to research, develop, and deliver the products, services and solutions needed by education institutes worldwide to support their primary goals of educating students, providing optimum learning experiences, and ultimately delivering successful outcomes.

What can I bring to the role?

First and foremost, you will have a passion for writing high quality code. This will go hand in hand with a strong academic or vocational background and an aptitude for solving problems in an analytical and creative way. Experience in an Agile environment is handy but not essential as we can get you up to speed.

You will have strong verbal and written communication and relationship building skills and a knack for clearly and effectively explaining things in a way that is easily understood by others.

We see this role as being ideal for either a graduate (with commercial work placement experience) or a junior developer who has already started their software development career and is looking for an opportunity to develop their existing skills and learn new ones.

Our technical environment and your experience...

As part of our Semestry team, your work will include but will not be limited to:

  • Ability to write code, in order to develop and maintain web based solutions across user requirements
  • Java and Spring Boot
  • Knowledge and understanding of appropriate tools and adhering to coding standards and UI Designs
  • Knowledge or experience to unit test user stories and/or components
  • Design, development and testing following agreed standard and practises
  • Ability to become familiar with current secure coding standards and understand designated development methodology by actively contributing to the full development lifecycle
  • Where appropriate, you need to be able to maintain and expand your knowledge of existing and new technologies related to the role

Finally, you will be good at planning and prioritising workload whilst displaying meticulous attention to detail and have the ability to work in a time pressured and deadline driven environment.

Why Tribal?

This is an unrivalled opportunity to join a team of driven, meticulous, and passionate professionals, who are challenging the status quo of products that are provided globally to institutions that specialise in education, training, and learning. Our software is world class and we believe we give our developers the tools, environment, and training to be world class too.

Not only will have full access to Pluralsight resources to continue to up-skill whilst part of our team, but we offer highly competitive salaries, a flexible working environment, as well as a tech stack that is deemed a technical playground for developers. Your work will be diverse and challenging, and you’ll benefit from our generous benefits package includes pension; private medical insurance, life assurance, a healthcare cash plan and the option to buy or sell annual leave.

If you wish to apply, please send your CV.

As an equal opportunity employer, Tribal celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We make sure that our recruitment and selection processes never discriminate based upon any protected characteristics and actively welcome applications from all groups, not least those underrepresented in the tech sector. To safeguard this we are signatories to Tech Talent Charter and work with Business in the Community to better enable us to be a responsible business.
