Junior QS Role

The Junior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for providing support to the senior members of the Quantity Surveying team, in order to assist with the management of costs and contracts on construction projects

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates and budgets

• Assisting with the preparation of tender and contract documents

• Assisting with the management of subcontractors and suppliers

• Assisting with the measurement and valuation of work completed on site

• Assisting with the preparation of final accounts

• Assisting with the negotiation of variations and claims

• Assisting with the management of cost and contract records

• Assisting with the administration of contracts

• Assisting with the preparation of cost reports and forecasts

• Assisting with the management of project finances.

Key tasks

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field and should have a keen interest in construction and a desire to learn about the Quantity Surveying profession. They should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to work well under pressure. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential, as well as a good understanding of construction technology and the construction process.
