Junior Quantity Surveyor

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor with Sodexo at Manchester University Hospital you will be a determined self starter along with a willingness to learn and keen to combine practice with theory with a proactive positive attitude.

You may already be qualified or have a willingness to be supported towards a recognised Surveyor qualification.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager this is an exciting and dynamic new role within the Estates team, with a focus on supporting the compliant service delivery of commercial responsibilities within the Hard FM / Estates Department.

Main Responsibilities

What you will be doing

  • Support the Professional Services commercial function during the various stages from inception through to completion.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate contract and supplier relationship management.

  • Prepare quotation and maintain trackers up to data with valid communications and costs

  • Identify unnecessary costings and report

  • Assist in valuations, submissions of invoices and receipt of payments

  • Assist in preparation of co-operation letters to submit to lifecycle team

  • Make best use of CAFM system (Maximo)

  • Ordering and maintaining stock levels


The Ideal Candidate

What you will bring

  • A minimum of 5 GCSES Grade C (or 4) or above including English and Mathematics. (or equivalent Maths and English qualifications).

  • 3 A Levels preferably including Mathematics, or related discipline. Alternatively, BTEC Extended Diploma with grades MMM or BTEC Diploma with grades DD. Overall equivalent to 96 UCAS points

Desirable;

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Building Services

  • Previous experience at working within an FM delivery model / Building service
