The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hungry Key Account Manager to drive our future growth by owning and managing a portfolio of customer accounts for KCS. This individual must be tenacious and have the ability to win new business and opportunities, as well as manage accounts, maximise opportunities and will play a key role in delivering significant growth for KCS.

This is an exciting fast-paced role that focuses on high level account management with large multi academy trusts at head office level where you will be required to conduct review meetings, present MI and solutions, as well as managing the schools within the trust on a local level, which will be across a defined territory to effectively account manage, to ensure KCS is their chosen, trusted supplier. The role is home based with a mix of field visits and over-the-phone/video selling

As part of the Strategic Accounts team, Key Account Managers are critical in our WIN, GROW and KEEP strategy, therefore it is critical to be able to work as part of a successful and winning team. A key part of the role is to deliver exceptional levels of customer service to ensure customer retention.

A fully target driven role based on achieving results through managing a portfolio of large Multi Academy Trusts, KPIs, conversions of visit to sale and new customer acquisition supported with a monthly commission reward package. The role will be consultative, analytical and strategic.

Key Duties

Manage and own a portfolio of strategic accounts (large MAT’s)

  • KPI driven account management with a mix of sales visits and calls, to customers across the territory in education
  • Working on targeted campaigns supported by the Marketing Department
  • Actively promote products and services to increase revenue sales and seek opportunities
  • Identity, approach and secure new customers and opportunities in the territory provided to grow KCS’s brand in geographical growth areas
  • Interactions with multi academy trusts, individual schools and nurseries of all types and sizes
  • Using and updating company IT systems such as our ZOHO CRM with accurate data entry to include activity logging, customer information and quotations
  • Able to deal with any request from our customer base with ownership. To include liaising with internal departments and colleagues
  • Negotiating with customers on their full product portfolio to grow the adoption of more product ranges
  • Achieve and exceed daily sales revenue targets and activity KPIs
  • Attend and engage with all sales training and personal development coaching sessions
  • Work as a team with the wider UK team of sales professionals, to develop new approaches, customer scripts and effective ways to provide the customer with a fantastic experience
  • Prioritising daily activities and actions to ensure they are all met
  • Refining sales personal sales process to ensure the use of the KCS way to sell within a clear sales cycle
  • Weekly reporting of customer and market feedback to help inform colleagues and shape area and wider team strategy
