Location: Stevenage and Hatton Garden

Job description: to assist in the day to day analysis of precious metals in samples derived from the reclamation industry. The work involves analysis of primarily Au, Ag, Pt and Pd content in metal alloys and powder/sweep type samples.

Qualifications: “A” level chemistry understanding is a minimum requirement but experience in the use of precious metal analysis techniques is preferred. A willingness to learn is essential

Accuracy of results is paramount and therefore a good understanding of the methods is required and the ability to problem solve if necessary, as well as basic knowledge of computer operation and data input. The analysis methods include Fire Assay Cupellation, Microwave Plasma Spectroscopy, XRF Spectroscopy and other chemical processes depending on sample type.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year depending on experience.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday with 3 days at the Stevenage Lab and 2 days at Hatton Garden.
• An appreciation of quality/regulatory standards and quality systems, in particular ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and ISO 14001.
• Covering either lab location as and when required.

• A-Level Chemistry or equivalent (preferred)
