Your mission

• In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Senior Manager, Financial Controller, other members of the finance team, and cross functional stakeholders to ensure Huma’s accounting policies, procedures and reporting are in accordance with IFRS
• Be responsible for month-end close, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. Use strong analytical skills to investigate variances to budget and prior period, and tell the story behind the numbers
• Review of customer contracts for revenue recognition and ensuring the billing and revenue schedules are complete and accurate in NetSuite, Huma’s ERP system. This will involve partnering with the Commercial and Delivery Operations teams to understand the nuances of milestones in the contracts
• Own the payroll process across the Group, working with the People team and our external payroll provider
• Support the production of reporting to the Executive team and external investors
• Collaborate with the rest of the finance team and cross-functional teams to improve existing processes (including the monthly close process) and support business needs. Other responsibilities include ad hoc analysis and special projects
• Work closely with external auditors to support our annual financial statement audits, as applicable
• Provide coaching and support to more junior members of the Accounting team

From day one in this role, we’ll expect you to

• Be a resourceful accountant with 2-3 years’ experience working in a finance team or an accounting firm, particularly on month-end processes and reporting
• Be excited about the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day
• Be detail oriented, thorough, curious and are a collaborative problem solver
• Have strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
• Be a self starter who can work independently to meet tight deadlines
• Fully or part qualified accountant

It’s great, but not required, if you

• Have previous experience working in a startup or other fast paced environment
• Have a degree or qualification in accounting
• Have experience with Netsuite
