Job Description Summary
Job Description
Marketing Graduate Consultant
Are you a graduate looking for a creative role with a team who will support you to grow and achieve your goals? If so, this position is for you.
Who are we?
People are living longer than ever before, and we’re excited by the opportunities this brings. As a purpose-led financial services provider, we’re focused on supporting our customers as they navigate through new stages of their lives and all the moments that matter. We’re here for everyone who wants to make the most of their time on the planet and leave it a little better than they found it – however grand or humble their ambitions. Working at Aegon, you’ll play an important part in helping achieve this. Our marketing team is responsible for engaging with our customers, their advisers, and employers to help them understand our products as well as the importance of long-term savings and financial wellbeing in their lives.
Our graduate scheme
Now in its 6th year, our well-established Marketing graduate scheme has been curated to offer you a diverse range of marketing experience throughout your 2-year contract. Each year we welcome two exceptional graduates into our team, allowing us to give a more personal approach to your professional growth and development.
We believe that everyone should be able to bring their whole authentic self to work. You will join our inclusive and diverse workplace with over 130 marketing colleagues and 2000 employees in the UK.
Your two-year journey with us:
You will undertake four placements (each lasting six months). We understand you need the opportunity to explore several roles to determine the path of your future career, and we want to support you through this. You will have the opportunity to choose from placements in:
  • Strategy & Planning
  • Marketing Communications
  • Brand and Digital content
  • Marketing Operations & Production
  • Proposition
  • Public Relations
  • UX & Digital Engagement
  • Placement outside the Marketing Department to broaden your skillset (e.g., Distribution, Customer Services, Change)
To help your professional development, we will fund you to complete the CIM Level 4 Marketing Certificate with paid leave to support your studies.
Graduates form a valuable and respected part of our wider marketing department. In your role, you will be given ownership of a number of tasks and responsibilities where you can have an impact on the business and our customers.
Who we are looking for
We need motivated and diligent graduates with the right attitude to succeed within our close-knit team. We value ambitious candidates who are creative and have an analytical mindset which will help them succeed in this role. We champion a collaborative, supportive working environment so an ability to work as part of a team is vital. Knowledge of basic marketing principles or experience in this field would also be an asset to your application.
We’ve adopted a hybrid environment of remote and office working, so it’s important that you live (or are willing to relocate) within a commutable distance of Edinburgh by the start date in September 2023.
How we look after you
  • 2 year fixed-term contract, starting salary of £25,000 per annum
  • Fully funded Certificate in Professional Marketing (with paid study leave)
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working
  • Free private healthcare
  • 25 days annual holiday (plus Bank Holidays) and 2 days of paid volunteering leave per year
  • Complimentary on-site gym and subsidised canteen
  • Bonus scheme
  • Generous pension package with a minimum of 8% employer contribution
Alongside the comprehensive benefits package, applicants can expect to be welcomed into the strong support network of existing graduates with opportunities for business travel, including an annual trip to the London Leadenhall Office.
How to apply
We welcome applications from graduates with a degree in any discipline. Please submit your CV by the closing date of 13th March 2023.
Please note the recruitment process will consist of three stages:
1. Online test (13th Feb – 20th March)
2. Online interview (17th April – 26th April)
3. Online case study assignment & Assessment Centre at our Edinburgh office (TBC between 8th – 19th May)
