This is an exciting opportunity to join the well established Emotionally Healthy Children and Young People's programme in Cheshire East, as a Mental Health Practitioner.
The Emotionally Healthy Children and Young People project has been running for over 5 years and is supported by a number of agencies, including CWP, Cheshire East Council, local schools, Eastern Cheshire CCG, NHS South Cheshire CCG and the charities Visyon and Just Drop In.
The project focuses on improving resilience across schools and aims to develop teaching staff to ensure they meet the mental health and wellbeing needs of their students.
Applicants will require a core profession to apply for the role eg Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist etc. qualified CYWP, or qualified EMHP, and be registered with the appropriate national body, or due to register when able.
The role consists of providing consultation to schools and colleges in Cheshire East, liaising with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Colleagues, charity and third sector partners to improve the pathways and access to appropriate mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, and their families. There will also be partnership working across Mental Health Support Teams to deliver group and 1-1 interventions to children, young people and families.
Successful applicants will support the Peer Education Programme within high schools and colleges. The role will work closely with colleagues from CAMHS, and the local Mental Health Support Teams in schools to ensure a close working relationship across schools and colleges.
CWP provides health and care services for local people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care – including the provision of three GP surgeries.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).
