The Company:

Our client operates one of the most sophisticated "Special Processing" facilities in Australia. Primary activities undertaken at this location include Electroplating (Surface Metal Treatment), NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and Specialist Coatings (Corrosion Inhibitors) primarily for defence components for aerospace, land, sea and space applications. This role is based at their Wingfield Facility in Adelaide, AUSTRALIA.

They are recognised as an industry leader by the world’s premier aerospace OEMs (Boeing, Lockheed, Northrup, BAE, Airbus, Collins etc.) and deliver innovative "Patented" technology advancements, project management and sustainment enhancement solutions. Due to a substantial increase in demand for their services (300-400% increase), they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Operations/Production Manager to oversee the daily planning, execution and delivery of customer product to quality specifications and on-time.

Position Scope:

As the Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Facility Manager. This position is based at their "State-of-the-Art" factory in Wingfield. The scope of this role involves the following key areas:

• Possess Demonstrated drive, passion and commitment to achieve the results expected of the business and their customers
• Have demonstrated experience in a similar role (Production Manager, Operations Manager)
• Technical experience in operations management, ideally within an aerospace or special processing industry with an understanding of ISO9100 a distinct advantage
• Possess well developed computer skills with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
• Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to present well in front of small and large groups of people and to leadership groups, including Board presentations for further capital investment
• Demonstrated ability in managing customer demands appropriately and effectively.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly, both verbal and in written form
• Natural ability to plan showing good attention to detail, organize and follow through.
• Strong commercial business acumen, an ability to think both strategically and in detail.
• Ability to hit mission critical goals and milestones.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with an ability to motivate and encourage team co-operation
• Passion for continuous improvement, with a focus on procedure and policy improvements
• Possess strong negotiation and problem solving skills.

Required Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification/s in Aerospace/Chemical/Process engineering and/or Operations/Supply Chain management within Aerospace or Electroplating Industries
• Frontline Management/Supervisory Training
• Quality Management System Auditor Training Certificate from an Accredited Training Provider or
• Six Sigma Green Belt - Black Belt Certified (Highly Regarded), Continuous improvement

On offer to attract interest from strong candidates, is an attractive and negotiable salary package, Circa 80,000 - 85,000 pounds, which will be in line with your level of fit against the key selection criteria. Relocation support package will be available.
