Vida Healthcare Limited has an exciting opportunity available at Vida Hall in Starbeck, one of the company’s three outstanding specialist dementia care homes.

The operations manager role involves all aspects of managing the housekeeping, kitchen and maintenance departments in the care home to achieve the smooth running of the ancillary services on site. Working alongside the care management team, the operations manager will be responsible for making sure that the home is clean, tidy and safe at all times. Responsible for making good minor repairs when attending on call site visits.

Candidates do not necessarily need to have a social care background to succeed in this role. This vacancy may appeal to managers or aspiring managers with a background in hotels, hospitality, maintenance, construction or any other industry involving people and buildings!

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing team rotas, liaising with external suppliers and contractors, and managing a small team of staff across the ancillary services. The operations manager is responsible for purchasing equipment and supplies for the care home and for ensuring that the all equipment is maintained in line with health and safety guidance.

The successful candidate will also be proficient in software packages such as Word and Excel as well as being confident in learning to use new software packages. They will be confident communicating at all levels, with the requirement to liaise with residents, staff, family members, suppliers and contractors. An element of out of hours on call work is required in the role, as is the need to hold an IOSH health and safety qualification. If you do not hold this qualification, the company will be willing to provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to complete this course within a given timeframe upon appointment.
