Job Description :

We are a successful and well established engineering and manufacturing company who operate on a global scale and we now have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager working in a team of 3 but as part of our large Head Office site in Yateley that also houses our manufacturing facility. You will have experience of Programme, Project or Product Management. However, our Product Managers are not Project Managers and do not need to be the technical authority on our product ranges. You will be bringing new products to marker, liaising with the customer and sales teams to manage the release to market and monitoring the ongoing success of the products after release.

The role would suit candidates currently working in a similar role now seeking the chance to work locally for an international company with WFH options or those looking for the next step up in their career who have gained some experience relevant to the role but who want to progress their career.

In return we can offer a salary up to £60k plus annual bonus, 25 days holiday, contributory pension, sickness benefit and insurance plan, onsite parking, 25 days holiday, well being incentives, holiday purchase scheme and a hybrid working arrangement if desired.

The Product Manager is responsible for all aspects of certain product lines built and produced by the business, reporting into the Head of Product Delivery or another Product Manager, you will deliver products that meet our customer needs.

The Product Manager will have a focus on efficiency whilst achieving product market fit. Work will be split between; discovery, long term strategy, and ensuring released products are constantly monitored and roadmaps are up to date and prioritised effectively. Typically, a Product Manager will work alongside a Project Manager and Technical Lead depending on the scale of the product development.

Long term Product Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Market Fit of products
  • Regularly talking and listening to users (weekly/monthly)
  • Regularly talking to and listening to sales team
  • Prioritising features and releases
  • Monitoring product risks and reacting to support issues
  • Being the internal and external advocate for the product
  • Monitoring sales, margins and product viability
  • Ensuring specifications are neat and do not contain bloat
  • Product Discovery Process management
  • Monitor new product introductions, for market success
  • Responsible for technology decisions that impact the customers
  • Responsible for product obsolescence
  • Push technical innovation into products to ensure our products are always one step ahead of competitors
  • Ensuring our products work together across product teams to give customer value

Day to day responsibilities

  • Ensure processes across engineering are adhered to in line with quality system
  • Develop and monitor the product team to understand user problems and solutions
  • Become the internal expert and point of contact for a product
  • Working with product team including project manager and technical lead

To be successful you should ideally have the below experience:

Writing Functional Specifications, good presentation skills, understanding of UI design and UX, understanding of margins and the profitability of products, understanding user needs and prioritising features and user value, ability to analyse and interpret data. Any experience of Jira, working in a software or water industry is an advantage but not essential.
