This is an exciting opportunity to join as a Product Owner, playing a key part of the Member Digital Platform programme and product team. The product we are building is an enterprise B2C web application that serves millions of users (and leading FTSE employer customers).

You are set out to realise the product vision and deliver value for user and the business, and work very closely with Product Manager, Design, Engineering and Data team to build a product to revolutionise and transform the pension industry member experience. You will use various techniques and tools to influence and rally stakeholders and team members to work towards a solution, but also happily and ably collaborating with project stakeholders to achieve sign-off. This role requires a motivated individual who is experienced in taking responsibility, who can independently deliver results on both a product level as well as client specific projects.

The Role

  • Serve as the Area Product Owner who owns an area end-to-end within the application (i.e. journeys, features and personas) and be responsible for planning, delivery / execution, iterations / improvements of your area against product strategy - while ensuring we meet program milestones and business benefits.
  • Well-versed with the product development lifecycle from creative discovery, analysis, testing right up to release planning, and be responsible for the key results and metrics you are entrusted, and driving to meet strategic goal of standardised and modularized product offerings.
  • Excellent with epics identification, definition and planning to deliver against target outcomes. Engage and align with key stakeholders and cross-functional team to discover, analyse and document needs / Job To Be Done (JTBD) into solution design that balances users’ need [usability], business & regulatory constraints & consideration [viability], and technical inputs [feasibility].
  • Ensuring on-time, good quality and value-focused delivery with clear and well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria (e.g., leveraging INVEST framework), leading refinement / grooming sessions to be ready for development ahead of sprint starts.
  • Be user / member first: Partnering with Design team to leverage user feedback in the form of usability tests, focus groups, surveys, and other forms of research to identify pain points, unmet needs, and inform what and how we might optimise product accordingly.
  • Be data-driven: Partnering with Data team to generate actionable insights, leverage those insights to achieve goals set for the product; continuously experiment and iterate as you deliver your roadmap in order to find innovative and effective solutions.
  • Create and maintain materials for users and internal stakeholders that clearly communicate product capabilities; and support internal training and enablement for Customer Success and Operations teams.
  • As a senior member in the team, you will mentor and coach other product team members on delivering value across lifecycle, and champion and shape team culture on ‘product and growth mindset’.
  • Supporting various tracks include new features, implementation / migration of new clients, and ongoing support of live clients.
  • Supporting Product Manager to shape roadmap and positioning, and for assigned area - proactively maintain a healthy and ordered backlog, flat priorities to inform sprint planning, and defect management.
  • Partner with the Scrum masters to ensure the team’s way of working is sustainable, efficient, and effective.

The Requirements

  • Experience delivering customer-facing products working closely with Product, Design and Engineering team.
  • Previous experience as a Product Owner / Agile Business Analyst in a B2C software environment/ for customer-facing web applications.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment.
  • Familiar with different delivery methods (i.e. Scrum, Scaled Scrum, Waterfall, etc.) and ability to flex between them where appropriate.
  • Previous experience in financial services or other regulated industries is desirable.
  • Exposure or have worked with Content Management System (CMS) for experience personalization.
  • Excellent communication skills when delivering your points of view through data, insights and customer impact.
  • Passionate about improving the experience of target users, to make their lives easier.
  • Ability to manage expectations, challenge while upholding collaborative environments, and quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise.
  • Embrace and role-model flexible and “can do” approach.
