Programme Manager
Salary: From £50,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home or at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Harwell)

About Jisc:
Jisc is the UK higher, further education and skills sectors’ not-for-profit organisation for digital services and solutions. We believe education and research improves lives, and technology improves education and research.

Our vision is for the UK to be a world leader in technology for education and research and our mission is to power and empower our members with the technology and data they need to succeed. We know that digital technology has the ability to transform the student experience. We have the experience, expertise and know-how to drive that transformation.

About the role:
Working within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) team, the purpose of this role is to provide programme management to strategically important programmes.

You will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of programmes. You will be responsible for engaging with business analysts, development teams, programme sponsors, process owners, service owners and third-party suppliers as necessary to plan and deliver programmes according to the agreed parameters.

As a senior member of the EPMO, you will input into promoting, enabling and leading a modern, agile approach to project and programme management across the entire organisation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Applying appropriate programme management techniques to the programme including service development, implementing products for our customers and members, and business change
  • Managing the programme by providing strong leadership to the programme team to deliver against agreed scope, time, quality and budget constraints
  • Working closely with a variety of stakeholders at every level, both internally and externally
  • Implementing governance to ensure alignment and maintain stakeholder confidence

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of delivering a complex technology-enabled business change programme: expectation of some hands-on project management as well as programme oversight, reporting and dependency management
  • Deep knowledge and experience of agile project methodologies, especially Scrum, with the ability to tailor the approach to align with governance and transition requirements
  • Ability to engage constructively and negotiate with other project stakeholders to support delivery, as well as experience of engagement with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful change
  • Strengths in driving successful delivery based on excellent relationships as well as in-depth knowledge of the programme
  • Ability to lead the programme to complete delivery of a coherent, performant, operable end to end solution and support associated business change for the HE sector
  • Experience of bringing together teams from different areas to deliver successfully, with alignment between concurrent activity across multiple streams and business as usual work

  • Mental health first aid trained staff and supportive environment, plus your own Wellbeing allowance to spend on wellbeing for you
  • Financial well-being support
  • Discounts on big-name high-street stores
  • Cycle to work scheme
