Job Description :

LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.

Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

Which is why we are investing over £2billion into construction projects over the next five years to improve the services we provide. With that in mind we’re looking for an Investment Delivery Project Manager to help us as we do so.

Do you have excellent project management skills and practical experience of all aspects of project management, delivering change including the principles, methodologies, tools, and phases of success, with a proven track record of planning and managing building refurbishments, new builds, and demolitions.

Well, if so, read on.

LET’S TELL YOU MORE

In this role you’ll need to develop a good understanding of STW strategic accommodation objectives and how these link to Business Change requirements as you’ll be accountable for delivering a number of planned rationalisation and reactive business as usual, companywide and varied projects, covering small low value refurbishments through to multi-million-pound new builds, refurbishments and demolitions. Making sure they’re delivered in a manner consistent with recognised programme management philosophy. This will include delivery of robust project management, governance, and reporting.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity and a caring attitude in equal weight.

We want people who show up and roll their sleeves up. Restless spirits who are ready to be part of something bigger, who care, who really care... because when you really care, you’ll go above and beyond. When you really care you don’t just talk about it, you do more.

You’ll also need to utilise strong interpersonal and communication skills, as you’ll need to actively engage and manage multiple key stakeholders across the business. Having the ability to positively influence and effectively challenge will be integral for ensuring project requirements are reflective, align with strategic accommodation objectives and recognised as a success on completion. Effective communication throughout the life of the projects is a must, keeping all stakeholders fully informed and part of the process. Along with this, you’ll need to advise all appropriate boards, highlighting any risks, sharing financial positions, and recommending corrective action where needed to make sure projects are sustained and delivered to cost and on time.

We’d like to see you proactively seek out consolidation and improvement opportunities and act with pace to deliver suitable solutions, drive efficiency and value for money, and identify key process improvements using process mapping and data analysis.

This role will require travel across the STW region.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.

And when it comes to inclusion, we’re making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity; who help us do just that.

We do more, because we care.

HOW WE’LL REWARD AND CARE FOR YOU IN RETURN

It’s not just a job you’ll get here, you’ll get a career too. We have a range of benefits that reward and recognise great work and award-winning training to ensure you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the community in which we live. Here’s some of our favourites:
