Clyde

The Quantity Surveyor is based within our Naval Nuclear Clyde business area.

As the Ministry of Defence’s commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities. We also deliver operational maintenance, upgrades and repairs to support Royal Navy vessels, including the Vanguard and Astute-Class nuclear submarines.

The role

The difference our new Quantity Surveyor will make

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have a role of the ordinary. Our Quantity Surveyor role is diverse to others due to working on an arrayment of Naval Base Projects. Everyday is different.

Day to day, you will be supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the delivery of task objectives, within Naval Base Projects Division and develop contractual standards and processes with the team on a whole life contractual and costing basis. This will include challenging tendering and procedure strategy, control and measure cost and quality performance, in addition to implementing continuous improvement and best practice, contributing to business efficiency in accordance with Operational, Technical and Safety & Environmental standards.

Essential experience

• Holds professional Quantity Surveyor qualification - BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveyor (preferred)
• CDM Regulations training (highly desirable)
• NEC experience (highly desirable)
• Project Planning and Project Risk Management techniques
• Currently holds / ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
