Quantity Surveyor

This is an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK’s leading contractors within the construction sector.

The company serves multiple markets including transport and infrastructure, power, residential and commercial builds for both existing and planned structures.

Primarily based in Cheltenham with potential for remote working, and visits to sites/other offices as required as part of the role.

Key duties and responsibilities of this Quantity Surveyor role:

  • Subcontract document review, negotiation, and agreement of formal contract documents.
  • Maximisation of income and claim entitlements on broad range of subcontract types.
  • Responsibility for enquiry documentation, procurement and payment of subcontractors and where appropriate suppliers.
  • The review, agreement and administration of warranty documents, PCGs and bonds.
  • Continual commercial support and to support the regions in winning work and attend pre-tender or pre-contract meetings when required.
  • Delivery of client requirements, encouraging repeat business.
  • Prepare and assist in monthly valuations for contracts. Assist & prepare (as required) in the evaluation of variation claims & defence of contras/counter claims.
  • Monthly commercial reporting of margins across contracts to management.
  • Maximising cash flow and assisting with debt control by working with credit control team.
  • Agreeing final accounts.

Essential requirements for this Quantity Surveyor role:

  • Good working knowledge of NEC3/4 and JCT forms of contract.
  • Proven experience within a main or specialist subcontractor in a Quantity Surveying role.
  • HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction. Degree desirable
  • MS Office literate.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • CSCS card holder.
  • Professional Membership of CICES/RICS is desirable.

  • Remuneration negotiable based on experience.
