Job Description :

Quantity Surveyor(s) with Groundworks experience required for a thriving business based in East Kent.
The Quantity Surveyor(s) will work as part of the Commercial Management team to ensure the prompt financial completion of projects throughout schemes in the South East.
Senior / Intermediate

  • A qualified/experienced Senior QS with at least 8-10 years experience in the industry.
  • A qualified/experienced Intermediate level QS with at least 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • With an already confirmed order book ahead of us, progression would be on the horizon for the right candidate. Ideally, we are seeking someone with a Groundworks background.

Role Description

  • Providing commercial support for Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects
  • Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved
  • Liaise with the client, client representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues
  • Manage the client to receive information required, e.g. Payment Certificate, variation instructions, etc
  • Cost management for project/section of works, identify and pricing variations
  • Understand forecast cost to completion
  • Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Risk and opportunity management for project/section of works
  • Management of known and newly identified risks and opportunities
  • Identification and implementation of mitigation measures
  • Ensure all involved in procurement for project understand allowances for items they are responsible for and the procedures to be followed
  • Negotiate agreements including interim and final accounts
  • Prepare monthly forecasts

Skills & Attributes
HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction related subject
Demonstrable commercial experience, preferably within Civil Engineering/Groundworks.
Good communication and negotiation skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £50,000.00 per year
