Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Receptionist/Office Clerk

We have an exciting opportunity available as a Receptionist/Office Clerk. The position is a permanent post. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to begin a career in the NHS. The successful candidate will build experience working in administration in a supportive and friendly team. The position is based at Foxhall House, Ipswich.

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, conscientious, flexible and willing candidate to support the changing needs and demands of our clinical teams in a wide variety of administrative functions.


Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with an emphasis on team work. Ensuring a positive service user/carer experience is pivotal to the Receptionist role.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Data entry, typing, scanning, uploading to clinical systems and other general administrative office duties.
  • Call handling, face to face liaison with service users, carers and colleagues alike.
  • Ordering of supplies
  • Previous experience of Trust IT system (Lorenzo) would be of benefit but not essential as all training will be provided.
  • Previous experience of all Microsoft packages is desirable in the successful candidate.

The Trust has now introduced a DBS Update Service which is a contractual requirement. This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
