ShareApplications are invited for a Research Assistant to drive the research activities and assist in the administration of a JPI-AMR funded network focusing on developing epidemiological tools and databases focussed on plasmids (TEAPOTS).
You will have experience in the bioinformatic analysis of large collections of bacterial genomes, and will have an understanding of molecular epidemiological surveillance of antimicrobial resistance. The role will involve the compilation and analysis of plasmid datasets and assistance in the preparation of manuscripts, as well as ensuring milestones are met and arranging network meetings.
The Department of Life Sciences brings together existing strengths, expertise and excellence from the departments of Biology & Biochemistry and Pharmacy & Pharmacology, under one umbrella. The Department overlaps several cross-department research centres, including the Milner Centre for Evolution which is recognised externally as one of the strengths of the University and will continue to play a pivotal role in the new Department of Life Sciences.
This is a part-time role (0.4FTE) for a fixed-term period until February 2024.
