Project: Hox genes and the diversification of neural networks

The Berni lab is recruiting a Research Technician to support research projects that investigate the diversification of neuronal networks. The laboratory is situated at the University of Sussex, close to the vibrant city of Brighton, and offers state-of-the-art facilities and a highly welcoming and collaborative community.

We are a laboratory working with Drosophila melanogaster and the post-holder will be in charge of maintaining the fly stock collection. They will also support other research activities, preparing cover slides for immunostainings, buffers, aliquoting of antibodies, acquiring microscope images or analysis data amongst other things.

The ideal candidate will already have hands on experience working with flies. Experience in cell biology will be an advantage. They will be well motivated, reliable, be able to work independently and responsibly, whilst integrated into an interactive and supportive research group.
