Are you on the hunt for your next challenge? Would you like to make a positive impact upon people’s lives? How does the opportunity to work as a Retail Area Manager, and support YMCA’s ongoing success, sound to you?
As a YMCA Retail Area Manager, you are at the heart of our retail business. Supporting an area of shops, you will need real commercial focus alongside recruiting, training, inspiring and motivating teams to maximise sales and income plus control costs. Taking a hands on approach, the Retail Area Manager is fully involved in all aspects of the business from stock generation to new shop openings. You will be exposed to a fast paced, varied and exciting role, with opportunities to get involved in new initiatives, in a dynamic and growing business that really listens to its colleagues.
We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially focused retailer, with experience of area management. Most of all you are self-motivated, positive and really want to succeed in everything you do. We are also looking for people that feel comfortable working autonomously and making their own decisions, but who are also great team players. You should also be able to get results through others and not afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed! Experience of the charity retail sector would be a real bonus. Most importantly, though, you will have a passion for retail, fantastic people skills, and the drive and tenacity to succeed at everything you do.
Our recruitment process is anonymised and candidates' names are hidden. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly those from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, who are currently under-represented throughout YMCA England & Wales. Safer recruitment is important to us and the successful applicant will be asked to provide two references. They will also be required to complete a safeguarding self-declaration, safeguarding training and undertake a DBS check.
