Sales Assistant – Kirkcaldy

SM Electrical Supplies are looking for a Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team in Kirkcaldy. This position offers meaningful career development and the chance to be part of an innovative, family run business where you can progress professionally.

As a Sales Assistant, we expect that you will:

· Sell and market our diverse product inventory

· Expand our commercial reach by taking advantage of the untapped potential in new customers

· Build and expand relations with our existing customer base

· Devise strategies to open up opportunities in new markets

· Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers

· Strive to provide excellent communication throughout the customer's entire purchasing journey

· Be aware of competitors' strategies, pricing structures, and products offered through analysing current markets and predicting future trends

· Stay organized and on top of your duties by keeping meticulous records, from sales call agendas to expense summaries

· Operate IT systems such as Intact IQ, Microsoft Office, Teams, and Outlook

As an individual in this role, you should demonstrate the following attributes:

· Superior negotiation and rapport building skills

· A helpful demeanour towards customers and be acutely aware of their individual requirements

· The ability to work efficiently and effectively, in what can be a fast-paced role

· Adept at navigating changing conditions, with a keen eye for detail

· Remain current and be prepared to learn new technologies and applications

· At least 2+ years of previous sales experience

· Possess electrical product knowledge and have previous experience working within the industry
